"What really sets Hotel Ganesh Himal apart from many of the hotels in which we've stayed is the management and staff. Mukhiya Gurung has hired and trained a wonderful group of people to staff his hotel. They always seem to be available, but they never are intrusive. They are invariably polite with the most genuine and sunny smiles I have ever seen. No request seems too difficult or too trivial for them. Their English is good, in some cases excellent."
"The kitchen is open all of the time. They can produce an excellent breakfast, a Nepali, Indian or a Western meal or a light snack and drinks all day or all night. The rooms all are open and airy. They all have Western-style bathrooms with showers and tubs and plenty of hot water. The rooms always are immaculately clean."
"This was our third trip to Nepal. I think that it was one of the best trips we've had in large part because of the Hotel Ganesh Himal and its staff."

"... The Hotel Ganesh Himal was so convenient to all the sightseeing/shopping and yet far enough away to be quiet. The staff were lovely! So ready to help in any way they could."
"I have stayed in various Hotels in Kathmandu, as my trips to Nepal amount to 8 in 6 years. My husband is Nepalese, therefore, I feel I have got to know Nepal and Kathmandu very well. This trip we stayed at Hotel Ganesh Himal, which is run by the Gurung family, and managed by Mukhiya, one of the sons."
"The Hotel has well appointed rooms with ensuites, solar heated showers, cable T.V., twin or double beds. There is a dining room for meals , if you choose to eat there, I prefer to go to Thamel for the variety of eating places, but room service is available. The rooms are cleaned daily and towels changed daily."
"On each floor there is a balcony with comfy table and chairs, just perfect for lounging in with a pot of tea and looking out over Kathmandu. There is also a roof top garden with good views of Lang Tang and Ganesh Himal range if the weather is clear. Down on the ground floor , you can step out into a very pleasant garden that has a distinctive water feature... a waterfall!"
" it is situated just out of Thamel in Chhetrapati, which may get overlooked, but therein lies its' appeal to me. It is noticeably quieter than other hotels I have stayed in before, and is only a 5 to 10 minute stroll into the centre of Thamel. "
"Another good feature is that in an adjoining building to the hotel, is a trekking agency "Waypoint Adventures", run by Tshering Sherpa, a very experienced trekking guide, offering guided treks almost everywhere... Bhutan, Tibet, India and Nepal. "
" I thoroughly recommend a stay there!"

"As a Himalayan trekking guide I have been working in Nepal for 5 years now. During my first visit to Nepal I met Mr. Mukhiya Gurung, the manager of the Ganesh Himal Hotel in Kathmandu. We became good friends. Year after year I returned to my second home and family. And I still do. If you're interested in visiting one of the greatest countries on our planet, you consider staying at the Ganesh Himal Hotel as well. For just a few weeks, become part of the Nepali culture, the amazing hospitality and the unforgettable friendships."
"If you have any doubts or questions, don't hesitate to contact me for a second opinion... I'll be glad to answer your questions!"

"We were also very pleased and appreciative of the hospitality and service we received at Hotel Ganesh Himal. It was very kind of Mr. Kharel to pick us up at the airport when we returned from trekking and to change my flight arrangements for me. We also were very happy to be able to stay in contact with our families in the states via e-mail from the hotel. We also enjoyed the city tours which were arranged by the hotel and Mr. Kharel. Our trekking vacation was a vacation of a lifetime. Everything went better than our expectations, and we are very grateful to your company!"

"I had a great time and my only regret was not having someone with me to share it all with. Nepal definitely overloaded my senses in a way I was never prepared for--but I still haven't gotten tired of talking about my trip with friends and family."
